Marie Brennan: The Worst Monk in Omnu, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

**A witty cozy fantasy with high stakes from bestselling author of The Natural History of Dragons . Perfect for fans of Legends and Lattes and A Psalm for the Wild Built. In this first book in a brand new series, a "bad" monk must embark on a pilgrimage in search of redemption.

Diligence, despite their best intentions, is not a very good monk. When they try to fast, they faint; when they meditate too long, they fall asleep. No matter what task they are assigned, they will find some way to mess it up.

After one too many incidents, Diligence is faced with a choice: be shipped off to the strictest of temples, or prove their worth by leaving their home taking up the most gruelling of pilgrimages.

In their travels across the land, Diligence comes face-to-face with unquiet spirits, ravaging bandits, and fellow pilgrims -- one of whom is definitely more than he first appears.

Exposed to the outside world for the first time, Diligence starts to question what they've been taught. Is everything truly as black and white as they've always believed? Or do they need to deviate from the strict paths they've always followed in order to find true goodness?

Fast-paced, cosy, and immersive, The Worst Monk in Omnu is a unique read that will appeal to fantasy readers of all kinds -- from cosy lovers to those seeking a thrilling adventure.
