Manuel García: A Wonderful First Time, Gebunden

Klappentext

Manuel García writes of men who want what they cannot yet say, and of the nights when silence finally breaks. His stories dwell in longing, memory, and the soft violence of a first yes - obsession nursed in secret, tenderness mistaken for friendship, the body learning a language the mouth has refused. In the title story, two young men who have spent Friday nights side by side, watching and never touching, find themselves alone in a borrowed room with only one bed. The lights go out. A joke becomes a question. Courage arrives disguised as darkness.

What begins in hesitation - a hand at the waist, breath at the nape, the shy insistence of a body offered and almost withdrawn - becomes a lesson in patience, heat, and the astonishing relief of being entered by someone already known. Afterward, the want does not vanish. It stays, bright and a little frightening, like a door left open in a house one is not sure one may return to. Some first times end. The best of them remain, unfinished, in the blood.
