Manuel García: A Lover for My Son, Gebunden

Klappentext

García's most unsettling intimacies are not always between lovers. Sometimes they live in the rooms around them-in protection mistaken for control, in a mother's fierce, complicated love, in the dangerous hush of a house that knows too much. These stories inhabit heat, secrecy, and the thin line between care and desire.

In A Lover for My Son, a salon at dusk, a uniform folded over a chair, a shower still running. A young man comes home early. A door is left ajar on purpose. What is arranged is not only a meeting of two men, but a collision of longing, fear, and the hope that tenderness might keep someone safe. The air smells of sweat, soap, and the life that has been carefully staged. Between kitchen light and a half-open bedroom, two bodies begin to recognize each other. Some stories ask what love will risk. This one asks what love will orchestrate-and what happens when the wanting finally answers back.
