Now in its third edition the bestselling Spelling for Life features practical examples and exercises throughout which offer an encouraging, accessible way to implement a program of study and strive to reveal the beauty of spelling.

This third edition of Spelling for Life represents a substantial evolution in both content and pedagogical approach, informed by the latest research and classroom practice in linguistics and literacy instruction. Key changes and improvements include:

Notation is now in IPA providing consistency and clarity for educators as linguistic awareness grows in the teaching profession.

Etymological content has been significantly expanded.
New material has been added to illustrate common spelling errors, based on thousands of real student samples collected over years of clinical practice.
Worksheets are now explicitly framed as cooperative learning tools.
The book now includes a clear examination of what spelling is and what it is not.
