Lucy V. Kirk: Sacred Poisons, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

Cursed to kill everything she touches, Bree has been the executioner-in-residence at Woolsley Abbey for as long as she can remember, dispatching violent criminals one deadly kiss at a time. Nobody has ever survived her kiss before. But then she meets Evangeline.

With a thirst for blood, Evangeline has been called many things: a devil, demon, leech...vampire. A unique curse has granted her a twisted form of immortality: she may be dead, but she's condemned to an endless existence walking the earth. After years of searching, she has finally found the chance to break her curse in the form of a scholar of the occult - until he was executed by Bree for heresy.

Furious, Evangeline goes to Woolsley with the plan to slaughter all its residents in retribution for the scholar's death. To protect her home, Bree strikes a desperate bargain. Her abilities don't stop at the kiss of death. She can also see and speak to the spirits of those she's executed in the places they held dearest. If Evangeline can take her to the scholar's home, Bree will be able to communicate with his departed spirit and give Evangeline the answers she desperately needs.

But, as the two women journey across the realm, fear gives way to attraction, and Bree comes to the terrible realisation that she cannot fulfil her promise - and bring Evangeline's existence to an end - without breaking her own heart.
