What if you asked the Universe for help and it answered?

Kara Darby's perfect life is turned upside down when she discovers her fiancé in bed with another woman. She wakes up the next morning in an apartment she can't afford on a gallery assistant's salary, empty cartons of Cherry Garcia dotting the carpet, and an ex-fiancé who's left her to handle cancelling their Spring wedding. By the time she's put the wedding failure behind her, Kara's gained a muffin top and a Japanese roommate.

After three months of watching Kara mope around the apartment, Midori tries to convince Kara to ask the Universe for something other than ice cream to live for. Kara thinks Midori might have binged on one too many bags of squid chips. While on a supermarket run to restock the freezer, Kara realizes that her peculiar snack loving roommate might be onto something. After all, Midori is living her best life-she has her dream job at a top gaming company, makes great money, and is dating the hottest guy in the gaming world. All thanks to a little ask of the Universe.

At her friend's New Year's party, surrounded by blissed out couples, Kara gazes up at the full moon with her resolution to restart her life in mind. With nothing to lose, she takes a deep breath and asks the Universe to make her a famous artist and bring her a true love.

Find out if the Universe answers Kara's request with her face on the cover of Artist World Magazine and a dream guy or more heart break in Karin De Havin's The Japanese Rebound, the first book in The Magical International Dating World of Kara Darby Series.
