Josephine Angelini wurde in Massachusetts geboren. Sie studierte Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft an der Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. Dabei interessierten sie besonders die tragischen Helden der griechischen Mythologie. Josephine Angelini lebt mit ihrem Ehemann, einem Drehbuchautor, und drei Katzen in Los Angeles.
