Biografie (Jeff Lemire)
Jeff Lemire, geboren 1976 am Eriesee in Kanada, ging zunächst zur Filmhochschule, entschied sich dann aber doch für die Comics. In der Comicbranche ist er einer der bemerkenswertesten Newcomer der vergangenen Jahre. Bereits für seinen Erstling Lost Dogs erhielt er den Xeric Award. Es folgte in den Jahren 2008 bis 2009 die Trilogie Essex County für Top Shelf (dt. Edition 52), und mit ihr wurde erstmals ein Comic in die Top 5 der beliebtesten Bücher Kanadas gewählt. Für Essex County erhielt Lemire einen Eisner und einen Harvey Award sowie weitere Preise und Nominierungen. Für den ersten Teil von Essex County laufen die Vorbereitungen für einen Film, der unter dem Titel Super Zero in die Kinos kommen soll. Lemire hat außerdem die Vertigo Graphic Novel The Nobody sowie die Serien Brightest Day: Atom und Superboy für DC angefertigt. Für diesen Verlag entstehen derzeit neben SWEET TOOTH auch die Reihen Animal Man und Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. Er lebt in Toronto/ Kanada und hat einen Sohn.
