Biografie

Jamila Gavin wuchs in Mussoorie, Indien, auf. Mit ihrem indischen Vater und ihrer englischen Mutter zog sie als Jugendliche nach England, studierte später Musik und arbeitete einige Jahre für die BBC. Als Mutter von zwei Töchtern begann sie zu schreiben und veröffentlichte einige Romane, bis sie mit »Coram Boy« den Durchbruch zur Erfolgsautorin in Großbritannien schaffte. 2000 wurde sie mit dem Whitbread Children's Book Award ausgezeichnet.
