Iulia Nistor: properties without objects, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

Iulia Nistor (geb.

Depicting Accidental Properties /

The Exposition of a Question

Iulia Nistor (b. Bucharest, 1985; lives in Berlin and São Paulo) is an artist and philosopher working in the philosophy of mind and language. She is interested in procedures that analyze and question concepts. Through the processes and settings of art, she investigates how perception works and how the perceived is represented. Her work examines the conditions that structure thought-such as our capacities for abstraction and intentionality-and the consequences these have for the ways we inhabit and understand the world.

properties without objectsbrings together a line of inquiry that Nistor has pursued over the past decade through both painting and philosophical propositions: whether the depiction of accidental properties is possible. The publication assembles paintings, notes, and propositions that explore this question, and includes an introduction by the artist.
