Isabel Allende, geboren 1942 in Lima, ist eine der weltweit beliebtesten Autorinnen. Ihre Bücher haben sich millionenfach verkauft und sind in mehr als 40 Sprachen übersetzt worden. 2018 wurde sie – und damit erstmals jemand aus der spanischsprachigen Welt – für ihr Lebenswerk mit der National Book Award Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters ausgezeichnet. Isabel Allendes gesamtes Werk ist im Suhrkamp Verlag erschienen.
