Inclusive Participation in Planning in the UK, Gebunden

Klappentext

Guided by principles of quality of life and social value, this is the first comprehensive guide for planners and landscape architects in delivering effective face-to-face and digital public participation in planning decisions. The book furthers the argument for public participation to be seen as engagement rather than consultation, and for community involvement to become integral to planning decisions rather than a box ticking exercise. The book advocates for long-term engagement with communities during a planning process, beginning with the allocation of land before moving through the development process. It also suggests post-occupancy evaluation and data gathering, information that can then feed into further proposals and decision-making. Focused principally on the UK context, the book will nevertheless be of interest to professionals involved in planning decisions throughout the world, as well as students and researchers engaged with the discipline.
