The Pacha of Many Tales is a part of Frederick Marryat's collection of adventure novels, beloved by the likes of Mark Twain and Ernest Hemingway. Marryat was a Royal Navy officer during the Napoleonic Wars, but retired to research and writing after the wars' end in 1815. He wrote dozens of novels, plays, short stories and essays inspired by his naval experiences. Originally published in 1835 and then re released in 1896, The Pacha of Many Tales is an imitation of Arabian Nights and follows a Turkish Pacha who collects outrageous and romantic tales.
Biografie
Frederick Marryat wurde 1792 in London geboren. Weil er in der Schule versagte, wurde er mit vierzehn zur Marine geschickt. So kam er durch die ganze Welt, erlebte Seeschlachten und wurde mit dreiundzwanzig Kapitän. Er schrieb zahlreiche Romane, die meist vom Meer handeln.
