Sisterhood, séances and solving murder. The Agency for Scandal meets The Haunting of Hill House!

Three orphan girls dying in spooky succession. Rumours of a phantom luring them to their deaths. Is it all just coincidence, or could the orphanage be cursed? The Society of Free Spirits invites you to investigate, in this YA crime series with a supernatural twist.

17-year-old Violet Evergrove is used to being haunted. It comes with the territory when you're a renowned London medium. But between a new rival medium dazzling everyone with her mesmerising seances, and a ruthless spiritual investigator insistent on scientifically testing Violet's powers, Violet's hard-fought reputation is under siege.

Then the dead come knocking. Specifically, the ghost of Euphemia - the best friend Violet abandoned years ago when she secretly fled their wretched coastal orphanage. Euphemia is dead, and she's not the only one. Two other girls at the orphanage have perished in the same mysterious manner, and the terrified survivors swear Euphemia's phantom lured them straight off the cliff and into the sea. . .

Desperate to escape the pressure of London, Violet returns to the seaside to investigate the peculiar deaths herself. Surrounded by sceptics who never believed her, and the history she fought so hard to escape, Violet must expose the truth behind the cursed orphanage and save her Society's reputation. Talking to the dead was always the easy part. Outrunning the ghosts of her past might be the thing that kills her.
