Development Economics and Finance in Africa, Gebunden

Klappentext

Development economics deals with economic aspects of the development process in low- and middle-income countries, including promoting economic growth and structural change, as well as improving the potential for the mass of the population, whether through public or private channels. Development finance
focuses on structuring and reforming the financial system in ways that promote growth and development both at the macro and micro levels in developing and emerging economies. These two areas are very much related, as they focus on the paths of growth and development in developing and emerging economies.

This book offers an extensive examination of development economics and finance issues, with a specific focus on Africa. It highlights emerging trends, identifies gaps in knowledge, and explores opportunities to advance research in and on Africa and promote sustainable and inclusive development. It encompasses a wide range of subjects and focuses on state-of-the-art research on major development
issues to ensure a contribution to contemporary literature and development policy in Africa. The book showcases pioneering research and perspectives from leading international and local researchers, emphasising global viewpoints and comparative analysis. These areas are crucial to economic growth and development, have important policy implications for governments and other stakeholders
in Africa, and are relevant to developing economies more broadly.

This book offers practical guidance for policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in development issues, using case studies and reviews of empirical evidence. It serves as a valuable resource for anyone seeking to deepen their knowledge and understanding of development economics and development finance in today's complex and rapidly changing global economy.
