Dali and Fashion, Gebunden

Klappentext

A tribute to the creative and revolutionary genius of Salvador Dalí.

Salvador Dalí's work contains many symbolic references linked to the world of fashion, such as shoes, clothing, jewellery and accessories. But his connection with fashion goes far beyond symbolism: Dalí collaborated directly with designers, photographers, and major fashion houses, helping to create new aesthetic languages. An original and unpredictable artist, he had a strong impact on the fashion world, always pushing toward innovation and creative freedom. From childhood, costumes, uniforms and image care were an essential part of his life; together with Gala, his partner and muse, he built a genuine image strategy based on deliberate stylistic choices and connections with the fashion world.

Dalí and Fashion explores this lesser-known yet highly significant dimension of his work, showing how he influenced twentieth-century fashion and continues to inspire designers and creative directors to this day. Through works ranging from sculpture to jewellery, from mannequins to the living body, Dalí and Fashion reveals the many expressions of Surrealism as an aesthetic of desire and metamorphosis, and the greatness of this total artist, capable of transcending time, languages and boundaries. A unique opportunity to discover an unexplored side of the Catalan genius's poetics and to explore his deep and enduring relationship with fashion---an intimate and enduring connection that influenced both his artistic production and his life.
