Some rooms may overlook you. Some people may forget your name. But God does not.

The Oil Knew My Name: You Are the Missing Ingredient is a Scripture-driven Christian living book for anyone who has ever felt unseen, underestimated, delayed, dismissed, or left outside the room.

Rooted in 1 Samuel 16 and the story of David, Rev. Lawrence A. Aycock, D. Min. explores the difference between human omission and divine knowledge. Through personal testimony involving grief, ministry, health transformation, family, public service, business, and more than three decades of music ministry, he shows how hidden seasons can become places of healing, preparation, character, and service.

This is not a promise that every closed door will open or that being overlooked guarantees a platform. It is a call to faithful preparation, responsible healing, humility, obedience, and service. Readers are challenged to stop measuring their worth by incomplete rooms, recognize the assignment God has placed before them, and use their gifts to strengthen others.

You are not an afterthought. You are the missing ingredient.
