Conrad Waters: Seaforth World Naval Review, Gebunden

Klappentext

This highly regarded annual volume provides an authoritative summary of all the major developments in the world's navies and their ships in the previous twelve months. It combines regional surveys with major articles on important new warships, and looks at wider issues of significance to navies such as aviation and weaponry. The contributors come from around the globe and as well as providing a balanced picture of naval developments, they interpret their significance and explain their context. In addition to its regular regional reviews, in which the stand-off around the Strait of Hormuz is of course of major significance, the 2027 volume includes a major article from Norman Friedman focusing on the US Navy's preparations for the next Pacific War, as well as an assessment of the Royal Thai Navy. There are in-depth chapters on three significant new ship designs: the Italian amphibious assault ship Trieste, the French frigate Amiral Ronarc'h and the Belgo-Dutch rMCM 'mothership' of the Oostende class. Technological reviews include Richard Scott's chapter on the evolution of the Tomahawk cruise missile and an overview of current torpedoes, whilst Richard Beedall assumes David Hobbs' mantle to provide an assessment of recent developments in world naval aviation. Now firmly established as the only annual naval overview of its type in the world, The Seaforth World Naval Review is essential reading for professional and enthusiast alike. It takes the reader to the heart of contemporary naval affairs.'... **this is a marvelous asset for those wishing to keep up to date with naval matters. Very highly recommended**.' Warship World
