Klappentext
This practical guide empowers faculty members across disciplines to create community-engaged courses and learning experiences . Drawing from the experiences of a selected cohort of exceptional faculty and scholars from across fields - humanities, social sciences, education and STEM - this edited book describes how they actively and deliberately incorporate community engagement into their courses, providing their students with experiential learning opportunities and creating mutually beneficial relationships with community partners.
This book offers guidance and strategies for professionals and instructional faculty wanting to implement these initiatives within their own institutions. Colleges and universities must respond to the needs of their students while addressing the concerns of our communities - community engagement work is how this can happen.
