Bj Chippindale: The Dice Are Always Loaded, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

It isn't enough to throw moneylenders from a temple, remove the wealthy by bloody revolution, or Occupy Wall Street.

Our Inequality, environmental destruction, greed, slavery, and war keep coming back.

Economists give us Capitalism, Competition, and Neoliberal Individualism, which have us more than $320 trillion in the hole and still digging like maniacs. They do not give us a real definition of money. We only have descriptive definitions and more of the same answers that got us into the hole in the first place.

Engineers give us infrastructure and the tools that sustain human civilization. In this book, philosophically real definitions of money and ownership provide a deep understanding of the Laws we have been breaking for 5, 000 years, and a return to a society based on cooperation. Cooperating groups of humans are the planet's apex predators. Humans as individuals are prey.

The real definition of money is based on work, and ownership is not work. "Mahi" is te reo Mori for "work," and Mahinism is a new "ism," different from every other.

The roots of this book, the real definition of money, and the link between economics and physics (since all real sciences are linked to physics) can be found in engineering. The philosophically real definition demands that money, and thus economics, including "ownership," be subject to the laws of thermodynamics.

And the economist's ignorance of the laws is no excuse. We have known for a very long time that what we are doing is wrong.

"Thus, according to the Holy Bible, according to the Holy Koran, according to the Tanakh of Judaism, according to Georgism, according to Communism, and according to the Laws of Physics - the interest that is basic to our existing economic system is WRONG".

Unlike most books on society's problems (The Price of Inequality, Capital in the 21st Century, or The New Climate Wars), The Dice Are Always Loaded provides detailed answers. When the laws apply to money, those details comprehensively change the profit motive, scarcity pricing, ownership, automation, energy, intellectual property, news and media funding, advertising, taxes, monetary policy, banking, lending, and cash. This book explains those changes, but be warned: some of it is radically different from what you've "known" since childhood.

Making Money Real is a book for people who want another way of organizing human civilization: people who occupied Wall Street and joined Extinction Rebellion. It does not use arcane math or language. Engineers make science useful to society. The Laws in terms of Money are:

First Law (Conservation of Energy): Energy cannot make new Energy, Money cannot make new Money, and ownership cannot make profits. There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

Second Law (Entropy): Entropy always increases (available work cannot be stored without loss). We cannot save or hoard money without losses. Money must "rot like potatoes" - Silvio Gesell. Rust never sleeps.

"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one striking at its root"-Henry David Thoreau
