Benjamin J Brenkert: Teacher Formation for the Christian Educator, Gebunden

Klappentext

How can early-career educators deepen their spirituality, self-awareness and competence, and enhance their potential as faith educators? Teacher Formation for the Christian Educator answers this question by helping them to build solid theological, spiritual and pedagogical foundations.
It covers all areas of teaching and classroom management, using case studies and reflective questions to help readers to develop their own methods and sharpen their skills. These include:

• Developing writing skills to communicate ideas and present difficult theological and pedagogical concepts
• Building confidence in cultivating a range of pedagogical sources and research tools
• Drawing on virtue ethics, culturally relevant pedagogy and critical race theory to analyse complex ethical questions
The book's framework supports readers in developing ways to educate children effectively, but also in a way that promotes social values and virtues through a liberating faith. It fosters thinking and dialogue about theology, ethics and personal formation in an educational context, all while pursuing each student's academic success and social-emotional well-being.
