Die vorliegende umfassende Monografie widmet sich dem Werk des 1999 in Muralto (Kanton Tessin) von Nicola Baserga und Christian Mozzetti gegründeten Büros. Ein Grossteil der Bauten entstand im Tessin; hier hat sich das Büro als prägende Stimme der jüngeren Architekturszene etabliert. Die Arbeiten werden für ihre originelle Kombination aus struktureller Forschung - entwickelt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tessiner Büro ingegneri pedrazzini guidotti - und einer sorgfältigen, sensiblen Interpretation von Programm und Ort anerkannt und geschätzt. Aus diesem Ansatz entstehen Gebäude von hoher räumlicher Qualität, in denen Tragwerk, Raumorganisation und Ausdruck untrennbar miteinander verbunden sind. Beispielhaft sind das Gymnasium in Chiasso und das Altersheim in Giornico.

This comprehensive monograph is dedicated to the work of the practice founded in Muralto (Canton of Ticino) by Nicola Baserga and Christian Mozzetti in 1999. The majority of their buildings are located in Ticino, where the practice has established itself as a defining voice on the younger architectural scene. The works are recognised and appreciated for their original combination of structural research - developed in close collaboration with the Ticino-based firm ingegneri pedrazzini guidotti - and a careful, sensitive interpretation of the brief and site. This approach results in buildings of high spatial quality, in which the structural system, spatial organisation and expression are inextricably linked. Examples include Chiasso Secondary School and the home for the elderly in Giornico. Preceded by an essay discussing the characteristic features of their architecture against the backdrop of current Swiss discourse, the bilingual book (Italian and English) presents a comprehensive selection of their works through analytical entries, supplemented by a complete list of works.
