Welcome back to The Broken Tavern-where survival is calculated, and every victory demands a permanent price.
In the 9th volume of the groundbreaking LitRPG dark fantasy series, the infinite, shifting floors of the Tavern face a threat unlike any other. The Broken Tavern is not merely a dungeon; it is a living, breathing anomaly-a cosmic pin anchoring an endless nexus of universes and timelines together. It is an apex predator in architectural form, weaponizing its environment to feed on the memory, flesh, and souls of those who fail.
But some men do not enter The Broken Tavern seeking redemption, balance, or understanding. Some seek only ash.
The Pyromantic Tyrant Volume 9 descends into the brutal, unforgiving path of Dravok, an avatar of Absolute Evil and pure Dark Karma. After systematically burning his entire home world to the ground, the Pyromantic Tyrant discovered that the Tavern is the gateway to infinite universes. Now, he intends to burn them all.
Dravok is a force of functional destruction, generating a suffocating intimidation field capable of fracturing weaker minds. But the Tavern does not allow such chaotic malice to spread unchecked. To counter him, the system deployed its most unyielding defensive constructs: the Obsidian Sentinels. Forged from heat-resistant volcanic glass and structural void matter, these colossal entities operate by suppressing environmental oxygen density and collapsing localized combustion potential, effectively starving fire-based combatants of their fundamental advantage.
The Ultimate Sacrifice The Broken Tavern series operates on strict "Ironman" RPG principles governed by Rule 10: The Law of Temporal Weight. There is no plot armor, and every tactical error or extreme victory demands a permanent price in flesh, blood, or sanity.
Faced with the unyielding Obsidian Sentinel, Absolute Evil did not retreat. It adapted through self-destruction. To shatter the guardian, Dravok underwent a voluntary, irreversible internal reforging. He melted his massive greataxes directly into his own flesh, bone, and vascular systems, producing an internal heat state sufficient to shatter even obsidian-class defenses through sustained thermal overload.
He achieved victory at the cost of his humanity. What remains is a permanently altered monster in form and function-with weapons fused irreversibly into his skeletal structure, his hands forever clenched by the weight of what he has become.
As Dravok climbs higher through the infinite dimensional doors, the Tavern itself must adapt to contain a monster that cannot be reasoned with, cannot be frozen, and cannot be stopped without catastrophic structural loss.
For Fans of: Unforgiving LitRPG mechanics, grimdark fantasy, villainous protagonists, and cosmic system-horror.
The Tavern does not grant heroes. It creates survivors. And some souls are too dark to be saved. Step into the void.
