Biografie
Anne Carson wird in Kanada und den USA längst als eine der wichtigsten Stimmen der Gegenwart gefeiert. 1950 in Toronto geboren, studierte sie Griechisch und unterrichtet als Altphilologin. Die Parallelität von Antike mit der Gegenwart durchzieht ihr umfangreiches Werk. Neben der Sappho-Studie Eros the Bittersweet und ihren Sappho-Übersetzungen entstand eine große Studie zu Paul Celan.
