Klappentext

Goodbyes can feel hard-especially when you are trying something new.

On her first day of dance class, Amaya is excited to dance, but she is not ready for Mommy to leave. The unfamiliar room, new teacher, and other dancers make her wish Mommy could stay right beside her. With a reassuring promise, one slow breath, and a few brave words, Amaya discovers that she can miss someone she loves and still be okay.

As the music begins, Amaya takes a small but courageous step into the classroom. Before long, she is learning, dancing, and finding the confidence to try on her own. When Mommy returns just as promised, Amaya realizes that goodbyes may be difficult-but they do not last forever.

I'll Be Okay! Amaya's Brave Goodbye is a gentle, reassuring picture book for children navigating separation, first-day worries, and unfamiliar experiences. Through Amaya's relatable story, young readers are introduced to simple coping strategies they can use when emotions feel big: asking when their grown-up will return, taking a slow breath, and practicing encouraging words such as "I can try" and "I'll be okay."

Perfect for preschoolers, early elementary readers, families, teachers, counselors, and caregivers, this comforting story encourages emotional awareness, courage, independence, and trust. Whether a child is beginning school, attending a new activity, visiting a caregiver, or facing another everyday goodbye, Amaya's journey offers a warm reminder: it is okay to miss someone, it is okay to feel nervous, and with a little support, you can do brave things.
