'Introduction of An Electoral Threshold in European Parliament Elections in Light of The EU Principle of Democracy': In light of European reform efforts in the form of the DWA 2018 and the VO-E, which aim to introduce a mandatory electoral threshold under EU law, this thesis examines both the admissibility of such a threshold clause - which is fully determined by EU law - and the possibility of over-implementation. At a broader level, the study addresses the question of realizing democracy beyond the nation-state and the reduction of democratic deficits.
