The autobiography of the late William F Ludwig II, whose father founded the Ludwig Drum Company of Chicago. Ludwig was the largest drum company in the world in two different eras, the 1920s and the 1960s. The company was sold by the Ludwig family to the Conn company in 1929. In 1937, the family decided to return to drum making but no longer owned the family name, so they used the name WFL Drum Company. Eventually they were able to purchase the family name back.
