Biografie
Hubert Selby, 1928 in Brooklyn/New York geboren. Mit 15 ging er zur Handelsmarine, arbeitete dann als Lehrer, Sekretär, Stenotypist und als Versicherungsangestellter in Manhattan. 1964 erschien sein erster und bekanntester Roman, der ihm in England einen Obszönitäts-Prozess einbrachte.
