Sam Cutler, geboren 1943 in der Nähe von London, absolvierte in den Jahren 1963 bis 1966 ein Studium in Cambridge (Institute of Education) und unterrichtet seitdem Geschichte. Cutler arbeitete schon Mitte der 1960er Jahre als Production Supervisor, Stage Manager und Master of Ceremonies bei vielen Konzerten in ganz Europa mit Stars wie Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, den Rolling Stones, Alexis Korner u.v.a. 1969 organisierte er das legendäre Rolling Stones-Konzert im Hyde Park und trat auch in dem Film Stones in the Park auf. Nach ausgiebigen Welttourneen mit den Stones war er mit den Grateful Dead unterwegs, u.a. 1970 bei der legendären Festival Express Tour. Mit seiner Firma Out of Town Tours organisierte Cutler seither die Konzerte u.a. von The Band, Allman Brothers, Mike Bloomfield und The New Riders Of The Purple Sage.
