Biografie
Margery Allingham, geboren 1904 in London, veröffentlichte ihren ersten Roman im Alter von neunzehn Jahren. Bekannt geworden mit ihren insgesamt 20 Kriminalromanen um den höflichen Detective Albert Campion. Heute gilt sie wegen ihrer subtilen Erzählkunst, ihrem Witz und ihrer ungewöhnlichen Erfindungsgabe zu den großen Autorinnen klassischer englischer Kriminalromane. Die Autorin verstarb 1966 in Colchester, Essex.
