Biografie
Kent Haruf, geboren 1943, wuchs in Colorado auf. Er besuchte den berühmten Iowa Writers Workshop und war dann als Lehrer tätig. Mit seinem Roman "Flüchtiges Glück" gelang ihm in Amerika der ganz große Durchbruch: Das Buch war nominiert für den "National Book Award", stand wochenlang auf den Bestsellerlisten und wurde bisher über 600.000 mal verkauft. Heute lebt Kent Haruf mit seiner Frau in Murphysboro, Illinois, und unterrichtet Literatur an der Southern Illinois University. Haruf starb 2014.
