Biografie (Ismail Kadare)

Ismail Kadare, geboren 1936 in der südalbanischen Stadt Gjirokastra, lebt heute abwechselnd in Tirana und Paris. Für sein Werk hat er viele internationale Preise erhalten, er ist Offizier der französischen Ehrenlegion. Seine Romane sind bis heute in mehr als dreißig Sprachen übersetzt worden. 2005 erhält er den Man Booker International Prize, 2009 wurde ihm der Prinz-von-Asturien-Preis in der Sparte Geisteswissenschaft und Literatur verliehen.
