Francois Bovon, geboren 1938 in Männedorf/Schweiz. Studium der Theologie in Zürich und Göttingen bei E. Schweizer, H. Conzelmann, W. Zimmerli und G. Ebeling. 1967 Promotion, 1968 Habilitation. 1970/71 Gastdozent an der International Christian University in Tokyo. 1972-1980 Professor für Neues Testament an der Universität Göttingen. Seit 1980 Professor für Neues Testament an der Universität Bern.
