This edition presents all the existing master takes by Art Pepper in a quartet format with pianist Russ Freeman. The material consists of the album "Modern Art", the only two quartet tracks from "The Return of Art Pepper", the complete LP "The Art Pepper Quartet", and an obscure 1952 Savoy session that constitutes their earliest quartet date.
All existing alternate takes from the Savoy session, which only previously appeared on a long out of print Japanese edition, have been added here as a bonus.
