'Rock Around The Clock' und auch nicht als er
1959 Decca Records verließ. Die 6 CD-Box mit
Buch enthält seine amerikanischen Aufnahmen
von 1960-1969, sie beginnt mit den ausgezeich-
neten Warner Bros. Titeln von 1960 und 1961,
und endet mit seinen Aufnahmen - nun wieder
ein Star des Rock'n'Roll Revivals - für
Buddah Records. Dazwischen liegen seine Auf-
nahmen für Gone, Roulette, Guest Star, Nice-
town, Apt, United Artists und Kory. Alle diese
Aufnahmesessions sind hier komplett veröffent-
licht, darunter fast 30 Titel zum erstenmal.
Trotz der vielen Wechsel von Firmen und Begleit-
musikern blieb Haley's Sound immer der der
Fünfziger Jahre. Er machte auch wieder Ausflüge
zurück zur Country-Musik, aber egal was er
aufnahm, ob Country-Klassiker wie 'Singing The
Blues' und 'Detour' oder ein Twist-Album, er
spielte immer im klassischen, unverfälschten
Rock'n'Roll Sound. Saxophonist Rudi Pompilii
ist natürlich dabei. Die Besetzungen enthalten
aber auch die Gitarristen Franny Beecher und
Nick Masters, den Steelgitarristen Billy
Williamson und den Pianisten Johnny Grande.
Diese bisher selten gehörten Aufnahmen sind
das Geheimnis der Bill Haley Geschichte, und
sie sind eine wichtige Ergänzung zu Bear Familys
'The Decca Years And More' Box. Wichtig,
zeitlos, ein Klassiker!
