In 'Child's Play' (1988) young boy Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) is given a doll called Chucky for his birthday. Unfortunately, Chucky is possessed by the spirit of serial-killing psychopath Charles Lee Ray (voice of Brad Dourif) who was killed by the boy's cop father. The doll soon picks up where his creator left off, embarking on a gruesome killing spree - for which all the evidence points to Andy.
In 'Child's Play 2' (1990) Chucky's manufacturers reconstruct the doll in a bid to dispel the negative publicity surrounding it. Of course, the newly-assembled Chucky wastes no time in tracking down Andy Barclay, the young boy who burnt him to a crisp in the previous episode, and starts making his life hell all over again.
In 'Child's Play 3' (1991) the Play Pals Toy Company decide to resume the manufacture of their previously problematic line of 'Good Guy' dolls. This gives the evil Chucky the chance to return one more time and attempt to get his revenge on his old enemy Andy Barclay (Justin Whalin). However, Andy is now in military school, and has learnt a few new tricks to aid him in his battle against the killer doll.
In 'Bride of Chucky' (1998) psychotic doll Chucky returns yet again, this time reanimated by Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), the ex-girlfriend of the killer whose spirit originally possessed the Chucky doll. When Tiffany is electrocuted, Chucky arranges for her spirit to be transferred into a female doll.
In 'Seed of Chucky' (2004) Chucky takes his wife Tiffany and pacifistic, sexually-confused son Glen (voice of Billy Boyd) to Hollywood, where there are plans to make a movie about Chucky's murderous legacy. Once there, the family of killer dolls meet a downtrodden personal assistant (Hannah Spearritt), a rapper-turned-director (Redman), and sleazy tabloid journalist Peter Peters (John Waters).
In 'Curse of Chucky' (2013) Nica (Fiona Dourif) and her older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) lock horns over the estate of their recently deceased mother while Barb's young daughter seeks solace with a 'Good Guy' doll named Chucky that has mysteriously arrived in the post. But when the family falls victim to a series of brutal slayings, Nica begins to suspect that there may be a link to the grinning, red-haired doll, who, unbeknown to her, has a score to settle, and murder on his mind.
Finally, in 'Cult of Chucky' (2017) Nica is locked up in a psychiatric hospital after being convicted of killing her family. Adamant that she is innocent and that the murders were committed by the possessed 'Good Guy' doll Chucky, Nica is horrified when her psychiatrist brings her a similar doll in an attempt to help her get over her fears. When a new wave of murders then take place at the hospital, Chucky's original victim Andy Barclay (Vincent) arrives to help Nica fight back.
