Ein faszinierendes ProjektDiese bemerkenswerte Sammlung von Werken für das Virginal (eine Bauform des Cembalos) wurde im Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge gefunden. Es ist die größte Sammlung elisabethanischer und jakobinischer Tastenmusik aus der Zeit vor der ersten Musik für Cembalo. Sie ist komplett handgeschrieben und umfasst insgesamt 300 Kompositionen.
Die CD ist die erste Veröffentlichung in einer Reihe von seltenen, aber sehr interessanten Werken für Cembalo und wurde von dem renommierten Cembalisten Pieter-Jan Belder eingespielt.
Das komplette Fitzwilliam Virginal Book ist ein faszinierendes Projekt und das erste seiner Art.
